Paving

Garden Paving

From Indian sandstone to reclaimed Yorkstone, and replica Victorian tiling to Herringbone brickwork, our paving experts have supplied and installed a wide range of quality paving and setts over the years. We lay all stone with the correct methods, to stand the test of time, and pride ourselves on the accuracy with which we carry out this important element of hard landscaping.

London Paving Experts

Having laid garden paving for over 10 years, across a range of residential London gardens, we’re happy to say that we know what we’re doing! Using natural stone, sawn-cut sandstone, limestone and slate, as well as exterior grade porcelain, we are aware of the pitfalls of laying certain stones. We know how they weather and understand their longevity in all areas of the garden, and so are well positioned to advise on the type of paving that would be most appropriate for your London garden.

Garden Paving Ideas

In our showroom, you can see a selection of materials in situ. Feel free to come and have a look and a chat, and work out the type of garden paving style that would make the perfect finish for your garden.

Outdoor Paving

Our garden paving team also have experience of sourcing and laying stone when looking to achieve the outdoor room look. Continuation of materials inside and out, complementing or contrasting with your interior floor finish is a speciality, especially when considering threshold detail and damp issues with bi-folding doors leading out into your garden. This might be a bit too much detail, but we can also provide a bullnosed, chamfered or pencil round finish for front garden steps, paths and terraces.

Decking & Carpentry

London Garden Decking

Hard or soft wood, smooth or grooved, we supply and install all types of garden decking and timber. This includes joinery solutions such as space-saving storage seats, bike and bin stores for front and back gardens, pergolas, sheds and treehouses. Garden decking provides a superb solution for many areas of your garden. And there are so many different options available for your outdoor space these days. With a huge range of decking styles, you can ensure a superb finish for terraces, seating areas and balconies.

Non-slip!

The myth that decking is more slippy than any other typing of flooring in a garden is just that. If it’s kept clean and looked after it is in fact a safer solution then many stones. And also if your garden decking is laid correctly, maintenance should be minimal and longevity should be substantial.

Garden decking that speaks for itself

Decking provides a softer feel than other materials you may consider for your London garden. Decking, well laid, achieves a certain and distinct look depending on what type you chose. A garden with a more planterly feel may require a more rustic timber – oak, or reclaimed pine, whereas a more contemporary outdoor room or modern London garden would suit an accurately laid Iroko deck with mitred corners, precision spacing and hidden fixings.

All decks are laid to the correct specification. Treated joist or sub-structures must be free draining with the required spacing of supports, joists and noggins. You want your deck to last as long as physically possible and it is incorrect methods that are the reason many people are put off decking – loose timbers, rotting joists, warped boards.  It shouldn’t be this way. Decking, and even more so in a London garden, should be laid accurately and to stand the test of time. And in turn be a fantastic addition or basis for seating areas and hard standing throughout the garden.

    Carpentry

It is with this same philosophy that we undertake all other outdoor carpentry works. Carpentry indoors is a different prospect – outdoors timber weathers, moves, expands and contracts and it is for this reason exterior woodwork must be done by those experienced in doing it. Outdoor kitchens, worktops, cupboard doors, storage, sheds, wendy houses, outhouses, dens, play equipment, only some of many fantastic solutions and additions for your garden but they simply must be made properly. And this is what we do.

    Garden Benches

We have built numerous contemporary garden benches. Floating benches as a focal point in a small city garden, Ibizian style daybeds for lounging in trendy city and larger family garden alike. We always like to consider who and how these will be actually used. It is all very well having a smart floating uplit bench but if sitting on it is uncomfortable, as man y that we come across are, then you at least want this to be known and acknowledge that it is just there for the aesthetic. We prefer to build seats and benches that are genuinely comfortable, even finished with bespoke outdoor cushions, where you can enjoy a glass of wine or sit around with your family and friends.

    Garden Storage

Another recently increasing trend are bespoke binstores or storage in your front garden. Complimenting colours already at the front of your house, such as your front door, we are skilled in building smart binstores for both standard and wheelie bins. Slatted batons works particularly well here as the storage often wouldn’t need to be waterproof and is a smart balance between contemporary and traditional. Its amazing what options you have in your garden even just for your bins!

    And last but not least...

Pergolas. We’re also experienced in the building of pergolas – both for traditional gardens and contemporary city gardens – using a wide range of materials with blinds, shade sails and awnings.

    Garden Fencing

    London Garden Fencing

We provide a quick and efficient garden fencing service, with expert installation of fence panels, screens, contemporary and traditional style trellis and garden gates. A range of trellis panels is on display at our showroom, so please feel free to pay us a visit and discuss the various fencing options available.

    An Englishman’s home…

You’ll find many garden fencing solutions these days, with secure boundaries being key for many reasons. For children to be safe within, to keep foxes out, for resale value of your house and obviously for the overall look of your garden. Traditional closeboard panels, smart and chic tongue and groove fence panels – painted or natural, picket fencing, willow hurdles, framed bamboo panels, bespoke joined panels – all give a different look and feel to your garden and it is an important choice to make.

      Modern trellis

We also specialise in more contemporary trellis, horizontal batoning, slatted trellis, contemporary horizontal fencing – call it what you will! A recent trend in contemporary and city gardening is this style of fencing and we see no sign of it slowing up. It looks smart, it blends traditional and contemporary and therefore suits many types of London garden. It can be natural cedar, painted softwood, machined IPE, different sizes of timbers, made using different profiles of wood, and works brilliantly as a structural backdrop to climbers in your garden. The contemporary city garden is its natural home however, and with London gardens serving more and more as an outdoor room, it can brilliantly compliment the hard and clean lines of the modern kitchen. Colours can be matched from any interior paint – such as your kitchen cabinets or kitchen tops and really works well as a blend from indoors out.

      Lighting

Using qualified and registered electricians we supply and install all types of garden lighting, including pond lights, wall lights, and recessed decking and paving lights. Samples of light fittings are on display in our showroom.

Up-light feature trees or water features, down-light pots and walls or add fairy lights or strip lighting to an existing feature in the garden.

We also install affordable remote control units to allow you to turn on your lights or water feature from anywhere in your home or garden.

      Brickwork & Rendering

For both front and back gardens we can build walls in various styles, from traditional London stock walls and iron railings to white rendered block work for a Mediterranean look. Our landscapers are also able carry out exterior painting for your garden using a range of top quality masonary paints.

      Artificial Lawns

For a hassle free, pet and child friendly lawn all year round, artificial grass is being used more and more for London gardens. The products available now are incredibly realistic and whilst many of us would prefer real grass in an ideal world, finding the time to tend to your lawn can often be a bit of a headache.

Although a more expensive initial cost than authentic lawn (please see garden maintenance services,) artificial grass is a ‘one-off’ cost and comes with a 5 year guarantee and 15 year life span. It ensures you have a brilliant looking lawn all year round, and allows you to install it it hard to ‘grow’ areas such as under trees, against walls and fences and in problem shady areas.

      Water Features

Bespoke water features for your garden built by our experienced team. We’ve built using glass, perspex, stainless steel and brick, to create a stunning focal point or feature. The sound of water in a city garden can be incredibly relaxing and help drown out the sound of traffic or planes overhead.

These features can be built to any specification and to be child-friendly, and add a unique element to your outdoor space.
